A rotational viscometer is used to measure the dynamic viscosity of bitumen at elevated temperatures. The torque on the apparatus-measuringgeometry, rotating in a thermostatically controlled sample holder containing a sample of asphalt, is used to measure the relative resistance torotation. The torque and speed are used to determine the viscosity of the bitumen, expressed in pascal seconds (Pa.s), millipascal seconds (mPa.s),or centipoise (cP).
