Falling Head Permeameter
Product Overview
STANDARD: UNI EN ISO 17892-11
Used to determine the permeability of fine-grained soils such asclay-like or silty soils. The specimen is confined within the permeameter which is connected to the manometer tube filled withwater.
The sample must be completely satured with water before the test, and the operator will check the rate of fall of the water in
the tube passing through the test specimen.
Falling Head Permeameter is a laboratory testing apparatus designed to determine the coefficient of permeability (hydraulic conductivity) of fine-grained soils. The test measures the rate at which water flows through a prepared soil specimen as the hydraulic head decreases over time.
This method is particularly suitable for soils with relatively low permeability, such as clays, silts and fine-grained soil mixtures. The apparatus is widely used in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering laboratories.
