Liquid Limit Casagrande Method
Soil Testing Lab

Liquid Limit Casagrande Method

Made in: Italy
Liquid Limit Casagrande Method apparatus designed for determining the liquid limit of fine-grained soils in accordance with standard soil testing procedures. Ideal for geotechnical and civil engineering laboratories.

Product Overview

Hand operated with left side crank and hard rubber base.
STANDARDS: ASTM D4318 | AASHTO T89 | UNI 10014
comparable to: BS 1377:2 | UNE 7377

The Liquid Limit Casagrande Method apparatus is a standard laboratory equipment used to determine the liquid limit of fine-grained soils. The test helps evaluate the consistency and engineering properties of cohesive soils by determining the moisture content at which soil changes from a plastic state to a liquid state.

The apparatus is based on the Casagrande method and is widely used in soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, highway materials, and construction material testing laboratories.

It is suitable for engineering universities, research organizations, technical institutions, soil testing laboratories, construction companies, government testing facilities, and quality-control laboratories.

Key Features:
• Casagrande method for liquid limit determination
• Suitable for fine-grained and cohesive soil testing
• Robust and laboratory-grade construction
• Easy to operate and maintain
• Provides consistent testing conditions
• Suitable for routine soil classification and geotechnical investigations
• Ideal for civil engineering and soil testing laboratories

Technical Specifications

Used to evaluate the relationship between the moisture percentage of a soil sample and the number of blows required to close a groove made into the soil and therefore to determine when a clay soil changes from a plastic to a liquid state. The unit comprises a removable brass cup which through a cam device drops on a bakelite base (or hard rubber base). Supplied complete with drops counter, but without grooving tool which has to be ordered separately. The instrument is available in two versions: - hand operated through crank (left or right side) - motor operated at 120 drops/min speed, ensuring better uniformity and accuracy

Accessories

  • ROUGH BRASS CUP, with central smooth band 10 mm wide, as requested by NF P94-051 Standard, used for soils having low plasticity
